Our second day in Langkawi filled with more places to visit and food to savor!
As this place was the first to come to our sight, we made a stop and gave it a visit. The place was not as how it used to be.
Shops selling all kind of tourist souvenirs-from batik, t-shirt, etc to gamat derived products. We had to go through these shops before we reached the burnt rice place.
2nd destination : Gunung Mat Chincang
The entrance to the cable car
Apparently, we chose the wrong time to come here. On saturday, there was a long queue waiting to get the tickets....
Local people receive 40% discount on the ticket....
.....and longerrrrr queue to get on the cable cars.
Our way to the top of the mountain.....
Inside cable car. I always love to be above the ground.....
Finally, the top of the Mt Chincang mountain became visible....
It took us about an hour to get to the top of Mat Chincang Mountain, from queuing for tickets, getting on the cable car and 'cabling' up. But the wait was really worth our time when we saw the breathtaking views from the top!
Hanging bridge. Swayed a bit from time to time....
Some views from the top.....
Near the entrance.
Apparently, we have to walk for half an hour up the hill to come to the first well. We were too tired and hungry and just spent our time at the food stall for lunch. I would love to see the seven wells for the seven princesses. Hemmm.....maybe next time.
Pn. A hubby, Pn. A, Wawa, Me and Abg John.
We had simple dishes for lunch. We ordered laksa and coconut drinks for ourselves but Ja Cha Cha was hungrier and had nasi goreng kampung instead. Have to say, the laksa here tasted good, just like the last time I was here. Even Abg John love the taste and called it fishy soup noodle!
Kampung fried rice. Simple and full of crunchy anchovies..
Our favourite-laksa telaga tujuh!
And of course the coconut. We had whole coconut each to quinch our thirst!
Pn. A and Ja Cha Cha were working hard on the coconut flesh. It would be good if Josh was around. He will teach them the proper way of getting most of the flesh out! And Abg John was all happy with him share of laksa and coconut drink. We'll never find these in Cambridge for sure!
4th destination : Tanjung Rhu Beach
Abg John had been hinting us about going to a beach somewhere as he loves sea. We were planning to stop at Pantai Chenang but somehow we missed the way and ended up at Tg Rhu beach. But the beach is as lovely as Pantai Chenang...
Such a beautiful panorama...
Both Abg John and I couldn't resist going near the beach and tooked some pictures of us. The rest of the guys were waiting in the car as it was so hot and sunny.....
5th destination : Air Hangat Village
The water was warm, warm enough to relax your muscle if you dip your feet in....
Both Abg John and I found a congkak on our way out from this place. I taught him how to play it and we played with this game for quite a while. Made me remember my childhood time.....
6th destination : Durian Perangin Waterfall
The water was ice-cold. Abg John was thinking of taking a dip and I had to stop him from doing that as we were not properly geared!
Even Wawa couldn't resist dipping her feet in the water!
7th destination : Galeria Perdana
We stopped at the galleria for our prayer. Then, we just took pictures near the entrance as we didn't have enough time to go in. The galleria is big and will take at least an hour to go through all the places.
We went to Kuah town again to properly do our shopping. My mum requested a few items and so did my sick sister in HKL but I only managed to buy one for my mum and all my sister's list. Not that I did it intentionally. What my mum wanted was (or were?) big and I didn't think I could carry all in the flight. Sorry mum...
Ja Cha Cha and Wawa in front of the restaurant
It was not that hard to find this restaurant as it is located near the main road. They have quite a selection of food offered. The food, eventhough was simple but tasted superb. And all the colorful drink...not from coloring! Abg John was really into 'teh ais'. Ordered that most of the time, thanks to Ja Cha Cha for introducing the drink to him! Hehe!
Fancy menu booklet...
And the list of food inside... quite cheap!
We started with seafood tomyam, all time favourite.....
And the main course...
Grilled stingray with air asam dip
Grilled mackerel for Ja Cha Cha as she is a very selective in the type of fish to have...
Lala fried in cilly. Yummy!
Kangkung belacan
A selection of fruit juices...colorful but not from coloring!
We all went back to Tok Senik with full stomach. What a day...
